Florean frowned, brow creasing. "Is that really what you're wearing?" he asked, studying Felicity's outfit.

She scowled, glaring at him from where she was applying a coat of clear lipgloss and using a spoon as a mirror.

"Oh, leave her alone," Harriet admonished over her cup of tea. "I think you look lovely, sweetheart," She smiled at Felicity and reached out to stroke her hair, laughing as the teenager squirmed away.

"This school had better be good," she griped, putting her gloss away in the front pocket of her backpack.

"Have you got your wand?" Florean checked, standing up. "Paper? Pens?"

Felicity sighed. "Yes." She didn't look impressed as he slung her bag over one shoulder. "You look like you're going somewhere," she said, getting a horrible feeling.

Florean shoved his hands into his pockets, rocking on the balls of his feet. "I was going to walk you to school..."

Felicity's eyes widened. "No you are not!"

"It's your first day and..."

"And I know where it is, Dad!" Felicity protested. "God, you're so embarrassing! You're not walking me to school. What am I? Five or something?"

Florean looked to Harriet for support, but she just shrugged. Great. Where was a bit of help from your wife when you needed it? He sighed, becoming slowly resigned to the fact that the two women in his life were never going to see things exactly the same way as he did. "Fine. You can go by yourself." He raised his eyebrows. "But I expect a full report this evening. Every little detail."

Felicity gave him a look that reminded him so strongly of Harriet that it was almost scary. "Okay, but only if we have ice cream for dessert."

Considering it for a moment, Florean held out his hand. "I think we have a deal."
