Getting the laundry out of the way early, Ginny had most of the afternoon to do research on the porch enjoying a cup of tea, trying not to let her thoughts drift back to the lovely lunch she'd had the day before after the race with the vet. Godric, to his credit, had alternated between flopping across her lap to 'let' her pet him or sprawled out on the porch itself following the sunbeam across the wooden panels as the day went on. He was proving a good companion and Ginny strongly considered his abilities as a familiar although she had no definitive proof that he was but she liked the bloody, arrogant beast and it was nice when he curled up next to her in bed at night while she read ( ... )

"Thank you, Ginevra. It's lovely out here. I can see why you chose the location. Had I not recently developed a suspicion of trees, I think I might have become jealous of your view." He smiled.

Rabastan stepped inside. "I've missed you. Will you sock me if I hug you?"

"I really don't think there was any big floral conspiracy after you, you know." Ginny laughed. "Wait till you see the view from the attic, it's glorious."

Closing the door behind him, she gave him a wry smirk. "I've missed you too, old man, and I think I'll sock you if you don't give me a hug."

"Thank Merlin for that. I still have a conservatory planned and the thought of being attacked by devil's snare while taking tea is not on my agenda."

Laughing, he surrounded her in an embrace and kissed the top of her head. "You had quite a cheering section yesterday," he said as he released her. "I gave Mrs. Carter a break yesterday and brought both Amelia and Wally to the Quidditch event. You fly very well. The children were very excited watching you race. Amelia has decided that now, not only is she to become a healer, she will play Quidditch as well. I think 'Healer Ginny' is her hero."
