He had managed to push himself up, however, and open the door to see if the tray of food was still there.
Alas, it was not.
Gilderoy grabbed some clean clothes and a towel before heading down the hall to the bathroom to take a shwer and wash his hair. Marcel would be coming by today. And who knows how many other visitors. If anyone saw him in this state, he might as well just be any other Wizard - something Gilderoy Lockhart was not sure he could live with.
Leaving his door open (so Marcel would know he could come right in), but casting a charm that would allow entry, but not exit (we don't want Myffles to run away, do we?), Gilderoy went off to scrub the filth off of his body.

She was too a big girl!
Besides, she wasn't alone. She had her dragon with her, and everyone knows dragons breathe fire and is really good at keeping monsters away. Well almost everyone. The lady hadn't seemed to know, and then she tried to take her, so Ella had kicked her on the leg and run as fast as could to Mr Bunny Man's house ( ... )

Anyone knew that children couldn't have wands! Well at least she did, because Mummy always said so.
'I'm not allowed to have a wand, Mummy won't let me,' she giggled. 'Can we play?' she then asked immediately after, tilting her head and giving Mr Bunny Man her best smile.

"As for you, stop being a magnificent tit about things. You're obviously not well. I will get you something to eat, but we are going to sit down and rest a moment. Is that understood? Now do behave and let me help." Against protests, Julian laid two hands on the man now, putting an ( ... )

Naughty Mummy!
'I'm a big girl,' she said proudly to Mr Muffin Man when he asked her to find a table, grinning before she turned and ran off, running straight to the table where Mr Bunny Man had given her and Mummy stew before.
Climbing up onto the chair, she sat down, waiting for Mr Bunny Man and Mr Muffin Man to come join her.

He settled in and looked over at little Ella sitting across from him. Her elbows were on the table, cradling her smiling face, and her legs were swinging back and forth under the table. "You take care of your mummy, okay, Ella? When we're finished with the bunnies, I'm going to give you some sandwiches to take home to your mummy, and I want you to make sure she eats every bit of it and doesn't leave the crusts behind," Gilderoy told her. He spoke to her as if she were the mum, and he were the dad, and Millicent was the stubborn little girl.
Really, he might not be too far off in that...

She didn't want to go home, but Mr Bunny Man had said she needed to take care of Mummy, and if he said so, then she it must be awfully important. And sometimes you had to do awfully important things. Especially when you were a big girl like she was.
She ran upstairs to get dragon, and then downstairs where Mr Bunny Man and Mr Muffin Man were waiting for her. She happily took Mr Bunny Man's hand and skipped next to them while chatting about bunnies, and Myff and Penny and Mummy and flying. And Mr Bunny Man and Mr Muffing Man listened to everything! They were the bestest, Ella decided, as she saw her house and pointed.
'My house!' she said happily.

Ella ran ahead into the sitting room and pointed happily to the sofa.
"Millicent? Are you okay?" he asked, kneeling down by the sofa. He put his hand on her forehead. There was no fever. But the house was still cold. Hadn't she cast a warming charm before she went to sleep.
She smelled like potions.
"Ella, did your mother ever use the socks and mittens I sent to her to go and eat?" Gilderoy asked.

'Mummy brought home food, and cooked!' she said happily, although she couldn't really remember if Mummy had eaten herself. She frowned as she tried to remember.
Then Mummy mumbled her name and she smiled and climbed up on top of her. 'I'm here Mummy, and Mr Bunny Man and Mr Muffin Man are here too,' she said. 'We bringed muffins!'
