Summary: Eleanor owls Zach back to say thank you for the flowers.
Completion: InComplete

Eleanor was surprised, to say the least, when she came home to find flowers and a note waiting for her on the kitchen table last Wednesday. Ernie hadn't seemed especially thrilled about it, and Eleanor could understand why when she saw who the note was from.

It was sweet of Zach to owl, and Eleanor appreciated the sentiment. Even if she didn't think that there was any reason to apologise. She would have owled him back right away, but not actually having an owl made that impossible. She had considered slipping a note under his door, as she usually did with Rose, but she only knew which building he lived in. Not which flat belonged to him. It was Friday before she managed to send a letter off.

Zach,

Thank you for the flowers. They are lovely, and I appreciate the thought behind them. There really is no need to apologise, however. It was actually very nice to speak with you, and I wasn't a completely innocent bystander. I did ask Ernie to stay. I think we should consider it water under the bridge. Although, I do hope you'll understand if I don't ask you to join us, should Ernie and I ever happen upon you at dinner again.

Things with the shop are going very well. I've spoken with Roger about the building. It should start mid-July, and if all goes according to plan, I should be opening at the end of July. I'll be spending most of my days there starting next week, if you should ever be in the neighborhood and want to drop in and see it. Of course, there really isn't much to look at yet. In the meantime I'm sending some soap along to say thank you for the flowers. The greenish one is peppermint, and the orange one has carrot juice and honey, which are meant to be very good for the skin. I hope you enjoy them, and I'm always open to suggestions, if there is something you like more.

Sincerely,
Eleanor
