There was nothing to be nervous about, Parvati kept telling herself.
And, anyway, painful experience had taught her that keeping her expectations low was a surefire way not to be disappointed. It would feel good to clear the air, too. Still her stomach was an awful mess by the time she reached the door of the Fire Alarm. She looked through the window, wondering if Seamus or Mrs. Weasley was working tonight. It was too much to hope that she would miss both of them, but either option was fraught with the possibility that wrong assumptions would be made, leading to awkward moments.
Oh, stuff it, Patil. Why are you making such a huge thing of this, anyway?
She checked her reflection in the glass, and within moments of turning back toward the street, she spotted a head of familiar red hair out of the corner of her eye. She plastered on a carefree smile. "Hello, Charlie,"
