The fog had taken much of the city of London into it's tight grasp. Rosmerta had apparated to a safe spot just outside the city and then wandered through the winding cobbled streets to her hotel. She hummed to herself and wrapped herself a bit tighter in her muggle shawl, hoping the chill in the air would burn off a bit with the Spring sunshine that seemed to be pushing through the fog.
She made it to her hotel and dropped her things off, still worried about the state she might find the Five Alarm in when she returned from her holiday, and took a long shower to relax her muscles. The idea of muggle-heated water still sort of gave Rosmerta the chills, but it was nice not to have to charm everything properly just to take a hot shower. After, she redressed in muggle clothing - a little red dress, just snug enough at the top, that showed off her curves nicely, plus
brown leather boots with nice heels - and with a quick warming charm she threw her red shawl back on and headed back out to the streets, in search of a store called
IKEA in an area of the city called
Edmonton. She'd heard of the store during her days working at a muggle pub, and figured it seemed an inexpensive, all-in-one stop for things she needed for the Inn at the Five Alarm. And with her small savings of muggle money from what her customers were using of it, she figured it might be best to just check it out and buy the things she would need rather than trying to find them within the wizarding community. She knew people were getting back on their feet, but the thought of putting strain on all ready difficult resources just hurt Rosie's heart - so muggle shopping and a weekend in London were for her.
Once there, she found herself in the midst of a sort of warehouse that reminded her - with it's high ceilings and vast open space - like what the Great Hall at Hogwarts once felt like to her. Looking around she was quickly lost and asking the shop assistants for help and then quickly lost again. Tightening her grip on her shawl she finally stumbled upon the bedding section - something she knew she would need no matter what - and picked quilt covers and sheet sets in
light teal,
charcoal,
red, and
black - grabbing two or three in each color as her fancy struck her. While still in that section, she was also sure to take into hand as many sets of plain white sheets that she could, for cleaning days and laundry days and just incase the quilt cover sets ever needed replacing. The items were inexpensive, as she'd planned - each costing roughly ten muggle pounds - and so she took a little bit more of her money and picked up new pillows for each room (she was planning on roughly a dozen rooms being put into the Inn), and found
cute,
mismatched throw pillows for each room as well (she could decide later which colors would go in which room and the like). She tried to stay away from the old Hogwarts' House colors, knowing that they still held quite a bit of emotional sway with some people and not wanting to offend any customers.
Next were curtains, and she was lucky enough to find
a simple, airy set that had sets in each of the colors of her quilt cover sets. She took enough of each color to go with the bedding, and made her way to the counter. She was soon lost amid kitchen items and couldn't figure out for the life of her how she'd gotten there when she stumbled into the loo accessories section with muggle plumbing displays and her rather large pile of a shopping cart. A young muggle man asked her what he could help her with. She looked him rather openly over him, noticing his
tight body and clean, happy demeanor, she stopped herself just before asking him if he preferred experience and beauty to the young trollops she'd seen about the city, and instead gave him an embarrassed smile.
"Actually, I was just searching for the cashier, you wouldn't be able to help me with that, would you?" A blush - completely in her control, of course - crept up her cheeks making her seem even more radiant than normal.
The young man smiled, "Of course Miss..."
"Call me Rose." She said, with her hand extended.
"Rose. I'm Adam. Right this way." He took her hand and shook it lightly, then gave her an appreciative look up and down. Rosie noticed a slightly less subtle bounce in his step as he lead her toward the front of the large store.
When she stopped him to quickly look at bath towels, she graces his arm slightly with her slender hand and breathed slowly into him as she said "Just one moment please, these look like they could be just right." He asked her what she was shopping for - a child heading off to college perhaps? She laughed huskily, "Oh no, I run an Inn. A sort of hotel, you know? I'm in town getting ready for renovations, staying at a different sort of hotel in the city." She'd mentioned her room on purpose - the man wasn't exactly what she'd normally go for, he was young for one, obviously only in his 20's, probably only half her age, and Rosie preferred experience. But he was fit, with a body to die for, and hell, she was only in town for the long weekend, why not have a bit of fun while she was? Rosie leaned into him, "Adam?" She said with her hand on his chest, "What do you think? Should I go simple with the white towels or should I be more... adventurous?" He lips curled into a smile that even the strongest couldn't resist.
He smiled in return, "I always like a good adventure myself." Rosmerta laughed, again, in her husky voice.
Piling towels onto her over flowing cart, she said, "You do, do you?" And under her breath she said quietly, "I think something could be arranged." There was something about the young stranger that has Rosie's blood rolling and she knew she'd have him in her bed by nightfall. Now, just to ask when he got off work...
