Adrian had waited up most of the night for Strix's return, finally falling asleep fully clothed sometime just after sunrise. When he woke to the owl tapping on the glass door to his balcony, his curls were a raging mass and his blue eyes were dark with worry. He saw that
his owl held a letter and letting Strix in he couldn't get it in his hands quickly enough. Strix hooted smugly and went to his snack tray on Adrian's dresser, watching his master serenely as if there weren't a care in the world.
Unfurling the note, recognizing her precious penmanship -when did I start using the word precious? - Adrian held his breath as he read and made a decision before he'd even made it to her signature. He looked up at Strix as he rifled through his dresser for something better than day-old, rumpled khakis and a t-shirt, and asked his familiar, "Think she's home?" Strix hooted uncharacteristically softly, almost as if to say it's all right.
Changing into
a dark-blue button down and dark denims, he raked his hands through his curls quickly but decided they were hopeless. Adrian conjured quickly a
bouquet of collared lilies, unsure what one does in a situation like this - he'd only ever run after any sort of... whatever it is that this was in relationship terms. Apparating over to Ginny's house on the hill quickly, he felt the wards envelope him and for a moment said a prayer to Merlin in thanks that they still excepted him at all. He breathed deeply, knowing that if she were inside she would all ready know he was there, and stepped forward to knock.
