Ginny dropped her bag by the door, utterly exhausted from the long day of classes and the portal home finally. The house was dark and she'd let herself in with a sigh, checking her desk for owls and getting her owl some treats for having been gone for so long this time.
Raking a hand through her hair, she shuffled through the pile without interest and dropped them back onto the desk, turning to light the fireplace. A flick of the wrist and the kettle was set on the burner as she sank into her reading chair by the fire, curling her legs underneath her as she closed her eyes for just a minute, trying to catch her breath. The hex removal had drained her of more energy than she'd been willing to contemplate but she had felt good enough to come home finally.
Accio'ing her quill and a stack of parchments, she began returning owls, writing quickly and with brevity as she was in no mood to be anything but. Two hours later, sipping her third tea, Ginny knew she could put off the final two owls no longer.
Dear Rabastan,
I am back in Stoatshead. I know you have questions. I am still limiting my travel but am available to speak with you after 5 p.m. most evenings.
Ginevra
Dear Adrian,
You asked to know when I was back and I am. I hope you've had success with your charms at the flat. Thank you for looking after the house while I was gone.
I must admit, your owl hurt confused me a little but as you have not actually asked me anything, I'm uncertain as to what is a mystery. I don't know what to say if you think my life isn't like me. It makes it clear to me that you've made no effort to find out what my life encompasses and that makes things between us very unclear to me. I apologize if I gave you reason to worry that my staying with friends for a few days isn't 'like us'. Is there an 'us'? You never said and I can't take a leap of faith on vague words that give up nothing of yourself.
Again, thank you for looking after the place. I've missed you and hope things are working out for you at the flat. If there is anything I can do to help, you need only ask.
Yours, but is that what you really want?
Gins
