Sorry I haven't written sooner. I've been rather busy trying to get things in order here. I finally met someone with whom it's worth talking. Her name is Gitta and she rather reminds me of Hermione; she's very bossy. I think you'd like her though. I told her about you and she came right out and asked me what I was going to do about everything. She's got someone too. And after talking to me, she and her bloke ran off together! Her parents were furious; it was all I could do not to laugh when Mother told me.
I reckon that if Gitta can do what she wants, I can too. To that end, I'm going to start lining up interviews. With people who can probably do a much better job running things here than I ever could. As soon as I have a few good candidates, I'm going to tell Mother. She'll probably balk, but I'm an adult and I'm entitled to my own life. And she can use the money that Father left to me to pay someone to manage the estate. Merlin knows I'm not planning on meeting those conditions anytime soon.
The bottom line is that I should be home by month's end at the very latest. I'm very glad that you weren't appalled by my last letter. Because as soon as I get back, I am taking you out. On a proper date. Dinner, candles, music, everything.
