"What lovely ink!" Gilderoy said out loud as he read the notice. Of course, the parchment was of cheaper quality and not quite the shade he liked for his writing, but it did accent the ink quite nicely. "Looks like a water and gum medium ink with a pigment base of indigo."

He had been out walking around town with Ella. They had gone down to visit Millicent's home, but found that she wasn't there at all. More than that, she hadn'tbeen there at all. There were no wards in place, none of the food they had brought earlier had been eaten, and none of her things had been moved.

Gilderoy was terribly worried, and he could tell that Ella was, too. She had been out of sorts lately, and really wanted to see her mummy.

"Read it to me, daddy," she insisted.

"Oh, well, it says there's someone in town who does divination. That is seeing into the future and discovering secrets of the present," Gilderoy said in a monotone.

"LET's GO!" Ella yelled. "The vin- din- dinvitater can tell us where mummy is!"

"That... that sounds like a good idea," Gilderoy said, picking Ella up so she could sit on his hip. Maybe the divinator could help them find her. "North Third Street. That's close to Muffin Daddy's place. Let's stop by and visit him afterward, okay?"

Ella hugged her daddy and put her head on his shoulder. "Okay. That sounds good. But if she tells us where mummy is, we go and see mummy first."
