When Katie had first opened the package from Theo her first thoughts had been more along the lines of viciously swearing than being grateful for the beautiful gloves. While the two of them were friendly, she certainly hadn't realized that a gift would be appropriate ( ... )

Thank you so kindly for thinking of me this Christmas. I do hope that you also enjoy this festive season in our new post-war world. I assure you that your gift is most welcome, and I do look forward to you visiting some time soon so you can share a glass of that scotch with me.

I know my own gift is paltry in comparison, but I assure you that the Transfiguration is permanent. I know how much faith you hold in our wizarding traditions and heritage.

I thank you very much for the scarf, it has a beautiful colour that matches my eyes wonderfully. In return I regret to say that I have no tangible gift to give to you, but I think you will be most pleased to know I have been in contact with a man who will be able to supply you with many of your needs on your trip to my home country.

I will read over your contract and later we can be discussing any changes that might need to be made. May you have a beautiful Christmas, and you have my every wish for a prosperous new year.

Dear Theo,

Many thanks for the wonderful gifts. You never fail to impress me with your taste. Christmas wishes to you, too. I shall be in London for a few days before the new year, and I daresay you will see a new issue of the Prophet before or very early into 2005.
