Setting his plans into action )
"So Theodore, what is this urgent business which you needed to speak of with me?" she asked slowly, allowing him time to enter the room and look at her before she distracted his attention with her voice.

He didn't miss the seductive tone to his voice, however. Swallowing hard, he forced himself to remember his business.
'It's about a house guest of mine,' he said slowly, pondering how to best get her to do what he wanted her to. 'One I think you'd be interested in. Do you have somewhere we could sit down?' he asked.

With a careful look out the window, Fleur noted Liam was still safe in the garden and so she sat down. A casual pat of the cushion beside her indicated she wanted Theo to sit beside her and get on with what he had come to do. "Why would you think I would be interested in any guest of yours, Theodore?"

'It's someone you know well,' he said, thinking it best not to stall to much. 'Or someone you should know well at least,' he said slowly, trying to keep his eyes from moving over Fleur's legs, so close to his own.
He cleared his throat and continued, getting to the point. 'Your sister has spent the night in one of the spare bedrooms in my house,' he said, putting emphasis on the word spare - not wanting Fleur to think he'd taken advantage of her sister. Somehow he didn't think that would go over all to well.

"My sister is dead, as you should have very well known, Nott," her voice was ice cold as she stared at the wizard foolish enough to say words she had longed to hear over almost anything else. "And you will leave this house now."
If Fleur's temper hadn't taken over so quickly she would perhaps have paused to think why a man with an apparently high intelligence would have said that if it wasn't true.

Why hadn't that little piece of information reached him?
Frowning, Theo decided that the best course of action was to move on.
'Fleur, why would I lie about something like that?' he said, his voice calm and soothing. 'She confirmed my suspicions herself,' he continued, pondering how much to tell about her sister's life, deciding to take it step by step.
'She has not has an easy time, and she...well she said she'd had nowhere to turn, so obviously she didn't know how to get in touch with you,! Theo continued calmly, not revealing his true suspicion - that she hadn't wanted to.

Theo was not running.
The surprise was enough to make Fleur sit there and simply stare across at him for several moments as logic seeped into her anger clouded mind.
"If...if what you are saying ees true, why did you not come to me ze moment you knew she was alive?" her voice had become more throaty and her accent had begun to surface as Fleur struggled to keep her emotions in check. She desperately wanted to believe the news, but seven years of pain made accepting something like this difficult.

'She needed food, and sleep first,' Theo said calmly. 'She feel asleep on my sofa and when I left she was still sleeping,' he said, finding it better not to mention the sleeping potion he'd used to get her in that state. It had been a light dose after all, and would hardly keep someone who'd slept properly asleep for nearly 24 hours.

"I want to see her," Fleur demanded as she moved to stand up and get ready to leave.

'Of course you do, Fleur,' he said. 'But now is not the time. There are things you need to know first,' he said calmly.

He swallowed hard, forcing himself to calm down, though it took every piece of will not to push her down on the sofa and take her right then and there.
Veela, he reminded himself. He's just trying to get her way.
Closing his eyes, he breathed deeply. 'Fleur,' he said hoarsely, his voice filled with arousal. 'I wouldn't want to keep you from your sister, I just think there are things you need to understand first. And I think I need to speak to her first as well,' he said, slowly daring to open his eyes ( ... )

Fleur decided to play to his ego and she caught her bottom lip between her teeth, looking up at him as if there was no other wizard more important to her in that moment. "But you will promise I can meet with her as soon as it is possible?" she insisted.
The thought of Gabrielle in trouble really did concern Fleur. What would be the point in getting her sister back if the few remaining scraps of government tried to arrest her? Of course she would not let that happen, but the stress could prove too much. "She is well though? Not hurt?"

Liam was still safe, Fleur made sure of that as she turned to face Theo once more. Much as he had done, Fleur took one of his hands between her own and held it firmly. "If there is anything you need," Fleur paused for a moment. "-for Gabrielle, I will get it for you. I thank you very much for what you have done today," she continued as she led Theodore outside and into the sunshine once more.
"I will expect your owl this evening to tell me when I can see my sister. Goodbye Theodore," Fleur released his hand and took a step closer. She brushed her lips across his cheek in a quick kiss, determined that he wouldn't try to delay the meeting for any longer. Fleur smiled, more to herself than to Theodore as she turned and went back to Liam, who was currently trying to sneak up on two gnomes at once. She didn't look back to see Theodore's reaction and simply expected him to have left.

Instead he stood watching her as she returned to the playing child.
Too preoccupied with staring at the woman in front of him, Theo didn't even notice the feeling of familiarity as he glanced at the boy. He shuddered and shook off the feeling, adjusting his trousers to make them seem less...tight as he left and headed home, deciding that walking would probably be best, and a trip to Socks for food would be advisable.
