Sewing Machine Care Seminar: FREE!

Jan 18, 2011 12:32

I wanted to let everyone know that Jackman's Fabrics is hosting a FREE seminar this Saturday, January 22, and I'm the guest speaker! I'm using a Mad Science theme to teach basic sewing machine care. If you own a sewing machine, no matter what kind it is, I strongly encourage you to come to my seminar.

Yes, you can come if you've never been to Jackman's. Even if you've been to our guide classes because you bought your machine from Jackman's, I still encourage you to come and learn about machine care. I am going to show nifty tools and care implements, which are available for sale. However, I suspect that many of you already have the tools you will need to take care of your machine. :D

I'm going to cover basic machine care, including the kinds of things that you can do (as a consumer) that won't harm your machine or void your warranty. I'm going to bust some myths about sewing and teach good habits to replace the bad habits most of us learned from our mothers and grandmothers. I'm going to share industry secrets about bobbins, thread, needles and more!

Here's our official flyer:

You can call Jackman's Fabrics at (314)994-1060 and ask to sign up.
The morning session at 10:30am is full, but the afternoon session at 2pm has plenty of space available... for now. Please call to sign up before Friday, so I can save you a seat!
If you're on the East Side, we're also hosting the seminar at our Fairview Heights location on Saturday, January 29th! To sign up for that session, call (618)632-2700.

Oh, yeah, one more thing:
If you know someone who owns a sewing machine, please feel free to share this information with them. If you are part of a sewing, quilting, or costuming list, please pass this message along. The seminar is free, and I hope to reach everyone who sews!

Thank you,
