The house was smaller than the one in Boise, Idaho. A lot smaller. Elliot stood in the driveway, with Saint's leash in his loose grasp, looking up at the single story wonder. The paint was chipping, though that might have been a good thing, seeing as the color was a lighter shade of god-awful. It wasn't bad enough to warrant being called a 'fixer-upper', but it wasn't nice enough to make him feel like he was still part of the upper middle class. His father had already set to work about fixing the things that were wrong with it. Maybe he'd get to finding the two cats that like to fight under his window at night. Ellie would really appreciate that.
Onward! And down the street they go, lanky teen and his massive hound. Saint tugs and jerks at the lead, doing a very good job at dragging his boy around just fast enough that Elliot's footsteps come down hard. He's explored enough to know where the park is, and that seems to be where Saint wants to go. The green edge of the park comes into view soon enough, with Saint's pace quickening with his excitement. Oh, joy. Trees to pee on.
It's only a Thursday, early evening. Elliot doesn't expect to see many people at the park.
