single guy... makes between $29,700 - $71,300
= 25% tax bracket
Uncle Sam charges single guy $10,200 in taxes (percentage of gross income) -$2,900 SocialSecurity
(smaller percentage)...-$663 Medicare
total federal income-tax witheld = $6,637
SS and medicare i can't control at all and are there for non-itemizable or deductable....
now because I fall into the 25% bracket it means that i pay a flat rate of $4,090 just because my income was greater than 29,700 and less than 71,300... but the fuckers get you twice... because every dollar over 29,700 that you show as taxable income you have to pay 25% percent on again...
-lets say for instance that my taxable income was 39,700.... that means that i have to pay another 25% on the 10,000 dollars more than 29,700 that i had shown as taxable.. cock suckers!!!!
so that means $4,090(25% bracket)
+$2,500(25% of amount over base rate)
=$6,590 owed to the fucking government
whom (by the way) I already work for!!! fuckin cock suckers........
but thats not a big deal, great.. almost broke even on taxes... guess the bastards didn't have my extra money to play with all this time. super
NO, thats not even what i'm pissed about.. fuckin state of maine.... i paid 2,700 in taxes just to maine.. for a grand total of $12,900
$12,900 fucking dollars that never reached my pocket......
fuckin Maine charging a guy... little old me 5.7% of my gross income.
how could one fucking guy owe 5.7% of his entire income in state taxes.. just for working there (as far as they know) fucking unreal. absolutely fucking unreal...
$12,900 roughly comes out to about 27% of my gross income
so....
for every dollar i earned i gave 27cents of it to the government....
a bit to much don't you think? but i assure you the calculations are correct.. to my dismay, thats what you pay to the federal government and a state income tax
and i'm sorry if i'm bitching, cause i know a lot of people didn't make as much as i did... but i worked my ass off for weeks on end without a day off (by choice) and almost $13,000 (that i earned) doesn't even make it to my pocket....
that could have been a down payment on a house instead of fucking renting...
and there is absolutly nothing i can do about it...
course i wouldn't owe so much in taxes if i did own a house.. but because they tax me so much before i even get a chance to know i got it... then i could write off a mortgage and property tax and local taxes and all that shit.. but since to them i'm just a 22y/old scum bag i can only take a standard deduction and a personal exemption cause they make it impossible for someone my age (with good credit) to finance anything but an auto loan on his own.
how the fuck can they stimulate the economy and get people to buy houses (housing market being an economic indicator) when they give tax breaks to people who could probably afford to go without them.
i don't know.... just discouraged.
this country is so ass backwards its sickening...
