My recently finished drama is 1 Litre no Namida, this time my entry will be quite short, as there isn’t much to ramble about to be honest. Also I'm sure most or all of my F-list have already seen this drama.

1 Litre of Tears is an 11 episode drama (Plus Special) which is about a 15 year old girl Ikeuchi Aya (Sawajiri Erika), who soon finds out that she has an incurable and cruel disease; spinocerebellar degeneration. The drama takes us through her life as she finds out about her disease and how she lives her life from then on.
This is a drama which is said to bring nearly everyone to tears, at first it didn’t for me….though I soon came to realize why, I was watching this drama very late at night when I was very tired, so I wasn’t taking very much in at all, so I was missing a lot of the important messages within the stories. While watching during the day I realized that this drama has a lot of things to say. This drama can touch a lot of people, not just the people who suffer from the same disease or any other disease, but it touches everyone, and can give them hope and courage to live on. After finishing the drama, I am now thinking what it is that I live for.
I felt that all the actors in this drama were very good, I felt that they were able to portray their emotions in a very real and believable way. Sawajiri Erika’s performance as Aya is very very good. I felt she done a very good job at portraying Aya, it must have been hard for her to act this role as she wouldn’t of had much knowledge about the disease, but still I think that she done a very good job. The people who played Aya’s family were also very good, they also felt real and believable.(To Jr fans: Sanada Yuma plays her brother) Nishikido Ryo played Asou Haruto a classmate of Aya, who soon finds himself liking Aya, even when he knows about her disease he has no problems with it and continues to be by her side. I think that a lot of people in real life wouldn’t be able to do that, especially at such a young age.
I havnt seen the drama special yet, but my sister says its basically a recap of the drama, though we see that Asou has become a neurologist at the hospital that Aya was at, and that her sister Ako is training to become a nurse there.
I would recommend this drama to any one; I think it has a quite touching story even though it is tragic. The message that I found from this drama is quite impactful and has made me think more about life.
