New Yorkers tend to organize their lives around clubs.
Book club, therapy, French-club, yoga class -- set moments in time where you can focus on honing your secret artistic skill or making yourself a better person. These things are not generally incorporated into our normal lives, rather, they need to be partitioned off into bite-sized clubs.

I am no exception. I find myself with a lot of "club homework" tonight. I am studying for a quiz tomorrow for my self-induced French lessons; I am setting up new mailing lists on Google Groups for my Gay Investing Club while researching the HRC's Corporate Equality Index; and I'm stressing over not doing enough comics "homework" like I promised myself I'd do.

It's really weird, but if I didn't have these set obligations, I feel like I'd just be blobbing around all day. Yes, I am that lazy.
