Hoo-weee, we got ourselves that one for the thumb! Now all we need is five for the other hand. Then ten for the toes.
So I walked up to Forbes & Murray to see the festivities. Okay, so it wasn't Oakland, Strip or South Side, but it was still sort of cool. It was what I expected--lots of cars honking, and loud people running around in the streets, armed with Terrible Towels. People greeting one another by waving their Terrible Towels, as if to say, "I salute you, O fellow Steelers fan." I like how when the Stillers are doing WELL, it really unites the city. I mean, I wasn't even decked out in Steelers-garb, nor was I being obnoxious, and still random people came up to high-five me.
Also, there were a lot of people drinking coffee, which wouldn't normally be funny, but I thought it was like saying "Hey guess what, Seattle--we have coffee here, too! Our diet isn't strictly kielbasa and Iron City."
Oh, and there's a fire in Oakland, but all of the cops and firefighters have left, so...Oakland's on fire.
This is the frist championship game I was alive for and can remember. I mean, I was four and five when the Pens won in 1991 and '92, and no, I don't recall either. So this is AWESOME! I was about to shit a brick when Randel-El made that throw to Ward for the TD...I think Randle-El may be my second favorite Stiller (right after Troy "Beware the Hair" Polamalu ;-)).
And how cute was Hines Ward's baby when he went up to get his MVP award?
