Oh, Spellbound has done it again. She has exceeded her original stupidity, a very hard thing to do. That horse had me laughing out loud during the lesson as she bolted from a wood pile that had been there the entire time we'd been at this barn. So, she spooks at it while we're cooling out. I walk her up to it to get her used to it. She stands calmly for about five seconds, then rears and spins around and takes off at a dead run. Meanwhile i'm on her and laughing too hard to shorten my reins and slow her down. Okay so now that you've heard all about my ridiculous horse's antics, time for me to tell you alllll about the new barn. Excited? Yes, you are.

Okay. It's a relatively small property but i love it. First to the right as you come in is a nice little round pen, perfect for longing my crazy little horse. No more dragging Madelaine across the arena!! YAY!! Then there's a nice little shit i forgot what it's called but it keeps the hay dry and stuff so yeah thats nice and then there's a nice breezeway barn with ten stalls but we're only using seven because two we're using for storage and one has a bunch of random shit in it. (i.e. lawnmower, bathtub, tank of gasoline.) Lexy gets the first big stall, my only complaint is that the door SUCKS and is nearly impossible to open/close. Hmmph. Well the tack room is small, but nice, and I really like the look of the barn, it's very traditional and I LOVE ITTT. There's a lot more things to be allergic to than the old place, however. Jessica came one morning and apparently Lexy was choking/allergy-ing so she stuck a hose down her throat, which seemed like a sensible thing to do considering you can't do the Heimlich on a horse (Ali!!!) And her current turnout paddock is full of weeds (they were mowed beforehand but they're still there) and I HATE THEM. Oh, did I mention everything here has a weird infestation of tiny Gnatlike things? They're horrible and everyone hates them. Naturally it's right by Lexy's turnout. But I suppose life goes on.

And in other news today... I bought Lexy a new fly mask. It's quite lovely. Wanna see? Okay, here tis. http://www.rcrsupply.com/WRFMsml.jpg
We had a lesson today. May I say that TWO-POINT IS LIVING HELLLLL. Lexy was extremely heavy on the forehand, nearly as bad as Vegas gets to being, and she's never done that before. I suspect Brian's riding is finally giving her a hard mouth, and that greatly upsets me, however there's nothing I can do about it considering he owns the horse. He rides her about as well as a cow rides a toad. Hehe. Funny image there. Not saying in any way that Lexy's a toad. We jumped a tad bit, not very high. 2'9" at the highest. Better than Sharon's crossrails, i suppose. Sharon will be miffed that Elani messed up her bounce. Maybe it was for the best. I don't know why, but I'm in love with the little gate jump I set up the other day. It's just so cute and charmingly traditional, and fun to jump! Lexy got a gold star for a nice little lead change today, I was asking for it and not expecting i'd get it without a fight, because that's Lexy for you. But she actually gave it with little to no fuss, usually she's jumping and swishing her tail and getting incredibly fast and growing annoyed with the fact that she has to work. I was impressed. Another thing Lexy hates is cross-cantering. Ohhh does she hate it. Horrors.

Well, I do love my Lexerlylou. Although the long-lost thoroughbred racehorse in her did come for a visit today. Yep, we had fun with that. Or rather, Lexy did.
