[ Baking was surprisingly similar to alchemy, actually. It's all a matter of knowing the right ingredients and how to properly put them together. Though, Al really did wish he could taste-test some of his creations. It made him a little self-conscious sometimes.

Right now, though, he's in the back kitchen of the store, measuring out the ingredients to a gingerbread house and collecting them all into one large bowl in front of him.

After finally adding the last bit of ingredients, he claps his hands together and presses them up against the bowl. A small, gingerbread cottage appears. It was more of a house structure than anything else, as Alphonse hadn't yet figured out how to put in just the right amounts of icing to make his decorations work. He will quite soon, of course, as Al is a fast learner, but for now, he'll be adding the decorations by hand. ]

[While between calls, Aya ducks into the back to see how Al is doing. The amazing thing about his gingerbread houses was the lack of divided edges, eliminating the need for frosting as an adhesive. Instead it could be added only where it was wanted-- be that for aesthetic reasons or to keep it in proportion to the amount of gingerbread in the house. It still looked nice to have frosting along the corner edges, but it was a relief to not have to worry about the thing coming apart until people wanted it to.]

How are you doing-- oh, how cute! Those will be perfect for individual gifts.

There are, actually! We've had some really interesting ones, too. Here, look at this one.

[Taking out her Dreamberry, Aya shows Al the image of Rainbow Dash's cloud home that she captured on the video.]

We're going to need a lot of frosting for that one, aren't we? It'll have to completely cover the gingerbread. I'll make a special whipped frosting for that one that's lighter and fluffier than our usual.

Would marshmallows work to make the clouds even fluffier? I'm sure I can fashion some in the shape of the clouds, as well~

Isn't it? I think it'll be a fun adventure to recreate it with food.

Marshmallow creme might work, but I want to be careful it doesn't get too sticky. Maybe if we coated the marshmallow with confectioner's sugar... Well, if that doesn't work, there's still the whipped frosting idea.

We can try them all and see which one works the best! The good thing with alchemy is that you can take apart the ingredients and remold them easily~

[ And, he's off measuring the ingredients again. Calculating in his head how much of everything should be in here... it's a delicate science, but nothing that he hasn't done before with other things.

A while later, Alphonse is ready. He presses his hands together, and... voila! A structure of--

oh wait, no... a part of it just fell off. ... Looks like this house will be harder to build than he thought. ]
