I leave for Israel tomorrow!!
That's right. In 24 hours I will be at LAX waiting to board my redeye flight to Newark. I have a 6 hour layover there, but it will merely provide me with enough time to not feel rushed. I can get lost for hours in the terminals and still be alright. That's comforting for some reason. Anyway, I'm nervous! But so excited!! This is going to be something amazing. Other than that, I don't know what to expect. I kind of like it that way though. I won't know my living arrangements until I arrive (all I know until then is that I will be in a dorm). I keep forgetting that I have friends who will be there. I'm going to need them when I'm aching for a familiar face.
I won't have my cellphone while I'm there. I'll be getting an Israel cellphone, but it will cost a lot of money to use it between the states and Israel. If you want the number anyway, feel free to ask. Also, if you want my mailing address- just ask. I'll have that once I am there as well.
As far as internet access goes.. I'm not sure either. I will for sure have access on campus, but within my dorm room is still up in the air. Regardless, I will keep in touch. It seems fairly easy to do that these days.
I'm hoping I'll put up pictures in these blogs as they come. I hope I do a good job with it.
Well, today has been filled with phone calls and the nights not over yet. I like hearing people's voices. I'm going to miss that.
My friends have done an incredible job reminding me how much I am loved. Gosh they're amazing! I have been nervous about feeling connections with people when I go, but they have shown me that those sparks will be there too. They know me, and I am proud of myself for allowing that. I have a meaningful place in this world. That should be all the comfort I need on those lonely days..
