Hermione/Ginny 137 words

Her words are wedding vows against my chest, reaching through my sternum, weaving delicately through the forest of capillaries, veins, and arteries.

I try to push away the technical names of over 600 flora when she laughs and tells me I look like a snapdragon, slipping her thumb against the stamin, pistol, pollen.

I want to stop the ever fluttering pages of the library in my head. Pompeii, people covered in ash forever. Would that it happen to her and I, locked together. The turn of the earth, orbits, the storm of Jupiter. A million calculations, the speed of light, acceleration, limits, the Pythagorian theorum, Greek mythology, Cupid's Psyche, her hands, her hands, her hands.

Ginny opens me like a book and reads my secret: for a little know-it-all, I know next to nothing.
