ch. 1
Yunho took a peek through the wide angle lens of his camera, seeing everything from the gadget’s point of view. He turned around, wanting to see the whole room through the lens. Yunho stopped when he got to the part where a sorry piece of human was slumping down on a desk. He put his camera down and frowned at his colleague.
“Yah, Junsu-ah!” Yunho yelled as he walked closer to the miserable guy. “What’s up with you?”
The guy in question sighed. He sat up straight, planted his elbows firmly on the desk and rested his chin on his palms. “It’s nothing, hyung.” Junsu said glumly, pouting as he did so.
Yunho raised an eyebrow. “Gee, if that’s nothing I wonder what ‘something’ could do to you.” he said in a clear, ironic tone.
Junsu blew air out of his mouth and wailed. “Aigooo! I’m such a pabo! Why did I ever agree to that thing?” he asked, more to himself than to his older co-worker.
“Wow. Newsflash. You finally realized how big of an idiot you are.” Yunho chimed in sarcastically. “If you don’t want to tell me what happened then fine, but fix yourself first before the models come in.” he added seriously.
The younger guy sighed. “Fine… Okay, so we were in a coffee shop yesterday and my friend, Jaejoong-hyung, kept finding things to point out from the good guys I see. We both got annoyed and he asked why was I fussing so much about him and added ‘You don’t even have a decent someone yourself!’…” Junsu stopped to take a breath then continued on. “Long story short… I now have to find me a decent someone… no, wait, the decent someone in a span of one month so that I can make Jaejoong-hyung agree to go on a date with whomever I choose for him.” He finished.
Junsu looked at Yunho for a reaction but then nothing. The older guy just stood there eyeing him with those deep-set eyes of his. There was silence for a brief moment until…
“BWAHAHAHAHA!” Yunho burst out laughing. “What the? You got into a ridiculous deal for ridiculous reason?” he asked, wiping out a tear from the side of his eye.
“Yah, hyunggg!” Junsu scowled. “It’s not that funny!”
“Okay, araso…” the photographer said, trying but failing to stop his incessant laughter.
Junsu grimaced. “Aish. What a great friend I got here.” He declared sardonically.
“Mianhe… mianhe…” Yunho said after a few moments when his mocking laughter finally subsided. “Now, uhm, what happened to you, huh? Why did you agree? And why the hell are you trying to hook your friend up with someone when it looks like he’s not even interested?” he asked, now looking serious for the first time at this hour.
Junsu gave out a sigh. “Aigoo… I’m not even sure why. I just said yes and it started from there. But, on that last thing, if you know hyung as much as I do you’d understand why I’d want him to find someone…”
Yunho didn’t say anything but just gave a short and slow nod.
“Aigoo…” Junsu whined again. “I don’t know why I let myself get into this, hyung. I have no way out… What should I do?!” he pouted and slumped once again on the desk in front of him.
Yunho sat on the vacant seat nearby and gave his younger friend a pat on the back. “There, there…” he said, then sighed. “Look, I know I should be nagging on you more because of your stupidity but I don’t think that will help much.”
“You think?” Junsu mumbled rather gravely.
“Yah, I won’t, okay? Anyway, I think I can give you a little help on your situation.”
“Really?” Junsu asked as he bolted up from his seat.
The older guy nodded. “Yeah. I know someone. I could set you up on a date with him and let’s just see what happens after that.”
“Really? Omo, hyung! You would do that?”
“Yes…”
Junsu beamed widely. He stood up, walked to where Yunho was and trapped his hyung in a tight hug, (almost sitting on him, actually). “Omo! Hyung, komawo, komawo, komawo!”
“Yah, yah, yah! Araso, araso!” Yunho said loudly, trying yet failing to get away from the younger man’s firm grasp. “I’ll still call him first and ask. Now, let me go!”
Junsu obliged. He let go of Yunho and stood up with a huge and goofy smile painted on his face.
“Yah!” Yunho said as he raised an eyebrow at his friend. “Stop that. You’re freaking me out. Besides, the models are coming in any minute now. You still have an article to write, remember?”
Oh, yeah. Junsu thought in his head. The little dilemma from yesterday almost made him forget his work of being a journalist at one of Korea’s top fashion magazines.
“Yeah. Araso. I’ll get to it soon.” He said, not noticing his smile fade off from his lips.
At that second, the doors of the studio opened and a bunch of people-make-up artists, fashion designers and models combined-piled in.
“And there they are.” Yunho declared.
“Right.” Junsu said. He cleared his throat and put his work face on. Yunho watched as his friend walked towards the bustling crowd and acted professionally, as if he wasn’t wailing like a five-year old just minutes ago. He shook his head and, with at least five minutes to spare, he took out his phone and dialed a friend’s number.
♦ next A/N: Hmm, excuse the inconsistencies, if I have any, in the fashion magazine thing. I don't actually have a clue on what pretty much everything they do there so I just relied on guess work for this chap. I need to research soon for the next chaps. :)
