GAH!
Well, phoned the Lort Smith 'after lunch' as instructed last night.....was then told, 'call back after 4pm,'.
Hurriedly canceled prior engagements with friends in expectation of rushing in to pick up 'cat with stitches in her butt'.
Dutifully complied as instructed. Waited on hold for the requisite 20 minutes, (this I expected for.... various reasons), and was told, 'we've been busy, but she's doing well, and she's booked in for tonight and call us at lunch tomorrow and you be able to pick her up after that'.
I'm really glad its not serious, but it does need to be dealt with, and they are much more able to keep her comfortable while she waits for the abscess to be drained than I can do at home......but I miss her!
And I feel like such a bad pet mother :-(
