my best theory: its already in me

my brain is an amazing organ

i have always been fascinated by dreams, and last night/this morning I had one that made me think

in my dream, i was in my room when i heard my phone vibrate. i picked it up and began talking to the girl who was calling me. then another phone across the room started vibrating, notifying me that I was receiving some text messages. then the girl i was talking to told me she was being charged for three phone bills. then i woke up

sounds like a pretty boring, stupid dream, right? here is why it is not:

in real life, my phone was vibrating on top of my dresser; my alarm to wake me up this morning. at first it was not enough to wake me up. my dreaming subconscious immediately incorporated the vibrating noise directly into my dream, as my friend calling me. when dream kevin picked up the phone, the vibrating noise did not stop, so my brain invented another phone in the dream to compensate for it. and just for fun, it turned the conversation i was having in the dream to talking about phone bills.

eventually the conscious overtook the subconscious, and i woke up. but i find it amazing how quickly my brain made those adaptations, without any conscious thought whatsoever. i am probably the only one that thinks this is interesting, but hey, thats why im a psych major i guess...
