just a few things :)
so in my last real entry i got a little carried away with the whole relationship factor. well, i needed to, i think. regardless, i neglected to mention that while i was in the central new york area i got to swing down to naples and visit my nick!
i think it was the first time in a long, long time that the two of us just got to hang out and just be us. it was great. i forgot what that was like. i drove down on monday morning and met nick at bristol valley theater, which is a really lovely little theater that exists in an old church. so i got the grand tour (about five minutes) and then i followed him back to his place. once there, i left my car in the driveway and my crap on his floor, and then we proceeded to hit the road for fairport, home of my first ever garbage plate. holy god, what a massive amount of food. i made a damn good try of it, but alas, i could not eat it all.
after i waved the white flag at fairport hots, we went by his house to get earmuffs. in august. earmuffs. ahem... and then we drove back to naples. we took it easy for a while, and then nick suggested we head to "grimes glen", which was this really cool forest trail that led along a creek to a pretty waterfall.
of course, both of us got our sneakers totally soaked while hiking, which is always fun.
so yeah, then we went back to his place and freshened up, hit the tavern for some wings and pizza and beer, i got to meet a bunch of his coworkers, and then back to his place for wine and stargazing.
it was a lot of fun. i missed my nick time. i'm glad i got to hang. and he's (hopefully) moving down here sometime in the next year or so, so i'm looking forward to a lot more of that.
