Lots of random things on my mind from the past couple weeks, so it's just easier to do a quick list!
-I'm over the number and just ready to change it. I've always been ready, but I've never been in this situation so this time I really feel dedicated.
-I looked at Arbonne's site today and they have a billion new products, one of which is a Seasource Detox Spa set, which I'm totally pumped about trying. I may have to wait a bit until I allow myself to splurge, but how cool! I'm already daydreaming about using it after a nice, sweaty workout. :)
-My mom is the greatest. She listens to me cry and encourages me. She (and dad) also sent me a plant...well, a tree...to my work! It's a dwarf palm and it's so cute.
-My boss/co-workers bought me a beautiful bouquet two weeks ago for Administrative Professionals' Day. They were gorgeous.
-I discovered this cute little store in the City Library shops called "The English Garden". I love it! I bought some lavender and white roses a couple weeks ago and made my roommates little arrangements, and also brown paper gift bags with treats and a framed temple picture in each one. I also bought two locally made necklaces there, which are just GORGEOUS. One is very bright and the other is more "exotic" (in size, as well) and will be a great summer piece. Much of the time, jewelry and such is made by local immigrants and refugees.
-I stocked up on some food storage (a couple weeks worth), so I feel a bit better. On the other hand, I used most of my savings to pay off some final loans looming over my head, but I feel so much better about having them gone and now I can focus strictly on savings again. :)
-My cupboards are a junk-food addict's nightmare. I organized them yesterday and there is absolutely not a drop of junk in my food stash. Nearly everything in my fridge and cupboards say "organic", too. I've got fresh fruits and vegetables, organic soups and meats, tofu and tempeh, bulk beans and grains and fruits, frozen edamame, [vegan] Boca burgers and Morningstar sausage patties [also vegan], loose tea, locally made preserves, soy, Ezekiel 4:9 sprouted grains bread, and other yummy things.
-I can't tell how you depressed I was that Carly Smithson went home on AI. She was AMAZING. I didn't think she'd win, but I hoped she'd go futher. I'm sure it will be between the two Davids. David Cook seems MUCH more comfortable on stage, and I like his voice better, though the young David Archuleta has great technique, too. I still think Jason should've been off and Carly rockin' out to the end. STUPID FAN GIRLS VOTING FOR CUTE BOYS. Carly is hot, hello! And amazing. She best put out a CD yesterday so I can buy 20 copies.
-I went through some SLC websites and looked up events, and filled my calendar with them so I always know what's going on around town.
-On Friday, Laci, Eric, and I played Apples to Apples and then went to Shogun's at 11pm for happy hour half-price sushi. Yummm!!! We parked at Gallivan Plaza and walked downtown. It's so beautiful downtown at night! The place was fun, Laci was tired and then got a burst of energy which was amusing, and the sushi was delicious. We even sat on the floor on the platforms.
-On Saturday, I went on a "double date" to the Real Salt Lake vs. LA Galaxy soccer game. There were a ton of people there since David Beckham was playing. Our seats were great! We were only six rows from the north goal!!! And only about 15 yards from Becks. Pretty awesome. That's twice in six months I got to see him. :) The game was a great game and way fun. I took some pictures but was messing around with the settings and testing them so nothing was too great. Eric and I went with his co-worker Joseph and hsi wife Shauna. It was fun beyond belief! It felt SOOOO great to carpool up to the stadium (traffic was nuts!), walk together, sit together, talk, have intellectual conversation. I know what married couple dates feel like now in a way...it just felt great because they are such wonderful people. We plan on going to another game soon!
-This week: tonight - teach ESL and then FHE Cinco de Mayo celebration; tomorrow - not sure yet; Wednesday - teach ESL; Thursday - visit teach on my lunch break; Friday - up in the air, but possibly going to Cedar City for the weekend; Saturday - ditto Friday, but if I'm in SLC I will go to the city library for the "Live Green" gala, and to some other libraries to check out the chalk drawings from around the world.
K, time for work!
