The world my great-grandparents grew up in was marginally changed from that of their progenitors. The change curve has gotten progressively steeper ever since, to the point that my children's reality is radically different from that when I was their age.
Here is some "kids say the darnedest things" proof:
- "Daddy Daddy I love this coloring book with the clone troopers and Darfa Lader! Can we have it at home so you can scan it and give me papers to color?"
- "[gasp] DADDY is that Tinker Bell????? Can you download that for me Daddy PLLEEEAASSE????"
- "Mommy I want Daddy to get on his work kah-pewter and stay in his office and not go bye-bye today, can he do that?"
... Makes me wonder how different their kids' world will be from this simple, cheap, clunky, pre-modern "good old days" of today.
