Stop 3: Jungles of Taman Negara

Jun 28, 2007 16:52

How many hundreds of years old..?

We came to Taman Negara, which means National Park in Malay. This is a spot that I wanted to visit earlier on, but was prevented by some flooding in this area. We only touched the tip of this ancient forest, and spent a few days hiking, boating, and playing Scrabble here. Honestly, this was a bit underwhelming in the sense that you don't see much wildlife, and there are a lot of leeches after the rain, so I was a bit paranoid.

Can you see my sexy pants tucked into my socks? Only B had to deal with a leech, but it was a minor incident, and we never got to break out our lighters.

One night we planned to do a night jungle trek, but it absolutely poured and thus postponed. I think K enjoyed the rain though.
