[And now Gokudera Hayato will be interrupting your regularly scheduled broadcast with his own natural disaster.

[Sure, he got the memo about the flooding - he's fucking soaked and sloshing up the stairs of his hotel, but more important than soggy cigarettes and useless dynamite is the fact that the Tenth is missing. He's missing and in a sleep coma ( Read more... )

wtf out of nicotine and bombs, because screaming can pierce a coma, gokudera is on a mission, unarmed and so anxious, taking on a flood for the tenth, !video

Hayato?! Woah-- be careful!

Are you still inside? Maa, can you make it to the roof, do you think?

[BRB, searching for the Dreamberry, splashing and huffing and cursing. Finally snatches it out of the water and gives it a healthy shake, not sure if it's done for or not. Usually water + electronics don't mix. But then Yamamoto's face is still there]

What do you [huff] think I'm trying to do?

The fucking elevator was flooded.

Maa, careful... [He warns again, actual worry lining his face for once. His voice is serious when he next speaks, brow set.]

I'm up here now. The water's rising pretty fast though... if you need me to come get you, I will. Hurry, okay? Dunno if the roof its actually gonna be safe for much longer.

I'm fucking moving [Hacking cough cuts off his grumbling]

[But Gokudera doesn't hear the part about the water rising or the roof not being safe because--]

The Tenth is missing. I'm going to find him.

Hayato, woah! Tsuna is all the way across town, isn't he? With Primo and all. I'm sure he's safe.

[He's worried about his best friend too; but Tsuna trusts Primo, and so does Takeshi. He knows Tsuna is gonna be safe, even if he wishes he was there to see to it.]

Just get to the roof, okay? Saa, we need to figure out a way to get trough all this water...

No one else is in the hotel, right?

No, he's not. Tch! You think i'd be calling him over the network if I knew he was safe? I talked to Pri-- [Multitasking angrily up wet stairs is not working for Gokudera. This time he goes down instead of the Dreamberry, tripping on the step up the next landing]

Fucker! I'm going to blow up this entire fucking soggy stairwell, I swear to God!

Hayato... just focus on getting up here for now, okay? Well talk once you get here.

Talk about what? Tch. Fucking soaked... [And some unintelligible grumbling, but Gokudera does take the advise, putting his mind to work putting one foot in front of the other on the slippery steps, gripping the railing and pulling himself up by it to prevent any further spills.

[And he makes the last floor or so in better time, huffing and dripping as he reached the roof]

[When the door opened behind him, Takeshi turned to peer over his shoulder, and gave Hayato a brief, relieved smile and a quick, approving nod. He was glad he'd gotten up there quickly-- now they had step two to worry about.

Looking back out over the edge of the roof, hands braced against the ledge, he surveyed how fast the black waters were rising, how they were moving... and what seemed to be moving in them, from time to time. He had somewhat of a plan, but... maa. Getting Gokudera to go along with it would be the difficult part.]

Hey... Hayato.

[Turning back around again, he tilted his head and sighed at what the guy was wearing. Long pants, that heavy belt-- the usual stuff. Not great for being in water.

...Maa, this really was the difficult part.]Stay up here for a few minutes, okay? I'm gonna run back down to the floor below and get a few chairs and sheets... the water has a current, but ah-- it's not too heavy, so I think once it reaches the roof, we can probably float on it. I'll send Kojiro ahead to check out the ( ... )

[It's true. When did Gokudera not balk at a plan, when it came from Yamamoto. Maybe it was their past rivalry, maybe it was his long-time conviction that he was an idiot - maybe it was just pure stubborness because Gokudera wanted to be the one in control. Whatever the case, he was clearly in the process of working up a really strong objection, his face tighening, mouth twisting into an ugly shape, when Yamamoto's sword was placed in his hands.

[That sobered him. For like five seconds, while his fingers numbly grasped the hilt, unaccustomed to the weight of a weapon that wasn't his own - and a sword was a far cry from dyamite. But for a stunned moment, maybe he even experienced something like respect for the brute force that went into wielding a weapon like this that you couldn't just launch at an opponent alongside colorful death threats and hope it did the job.

[But then the stunned silence wore off and Gokudera picked up where he'd left off, scowling at Yamamoto and even gesturing at him angrily with the end of his own sword] ( ... )

[But Yamamoto doesn't need him to run, jump, or dive... he just needs him to--]

Calm down. [He gives, tone surprisingly even, collected. Not the usual laughter and what-does-that-have-to-do-with-anything comebacks. Just clear, concise directions that he's going to need Hayato to follow; 'cause Hayato is too passionate, too emotional, and too rash... and this might actually be a life or death situation that isn't about who is the fastest, or the strongest, or can blow the most up. It's about who can keep a cool head, can work methodically; and when it comes to that, Takeshi knows without a shadow of a doubt-- it's his.

He's got this, and he's going to make sure Gokudera doesn't do too much to get himself hurt; slipping over floorboards aside.]

How're you gonna get to Tsuna, anyway? Doesn't having a boat make more sense? Maa, and with all this rain, you won't know which direction you're headed in without Kojirou-- there are no landmarks.

So just wait here, all right? I'll be right back with the chairs.

[And he's on his way

[There's some obligatory cursing at his back - and for an irrational moment Gokudera almost tosses the sword - because that's how he deal with situations like these - and his frustration. But Yamamoto's sword is not a bomb, he is reminded again, and even for the sake of venting, it would be straight up foolish to discard his weapon that way.

[So he scowls and turns away in his irritation, still holding the sword, but letting it hang at his side as Gokudera finally takes a look over the side of the roof, twitching at the unpleasant feeling of the rain pelting against his face.

[Tenth... can't fail him.

[SHIT! Was that just something moving in the water? And the sword hits the floor of the roof with a clatter as Gokudera sinks to his knees near the edge, wide-eyed and staring out at the black water that swallowed up the lawn outside the hotel]

The hell was that?

[Takeshi, for his part, goes fast; he doesn't rush like Gokudera did, cause he's aware that he's a dripping mess, and rubber soles get kinda slippery against wooden flooring. He gets downstairs, shoulders his way into a room; and haha, that really takes up some time, and makes his whole arm smart from shoulder to elbow; and invites himself in, to collect the chairs ( ... )

[Gokudera has been very busy in that same twenty minutes, though arguably not s productive. It took him a minute to spot his first monster in the water - though the words he'd come up with for them were a little more convoluted. But as soon as he realized those bastards were hostile and a definite obstacle on their journey to find the Tenth, he vowed to end them ( ... )

[Takeshi stared a long moment, then understood. Finally giving a wan laugh, he guessed,]

Ah-- you saw them too, Hayato? Jeez... those things looked pretty big.

Bastards. [Still seething to himself, though he glances back over his shoulder after a minute, eyes still narrowed]

The hell is that for?
