[And now Gokudera Hayato will be interrupting your regularly scheduled broadcast with his own natural disaster.
[Sure, he got the memo about the flooding - he's fucking soaked and sloshing up the stairs of his hotel, but more important than soggy cigarettes and useless dynamite is the fact that the Tenth is missing. He's missing and in a sleep coma

Are you still inside? Maa, can you make it to the roof, do you think?

What do you [huff] think I'm trying to do?
The fucking elevator was flooded.

I'm up here now. The water's rising pretty fast though... if you need me to come get you, I will. Hurry, okay? Dunno if the roof its actually gonna be safe for much longer.

[But Gokudera doesn't hear the part about the water rising or the roof not being safe because--]
The Tenth is missing. I'm going to find him.

[He's worried about his best friend too; but Tsuna trusts Primo, and so does Takeshi. He knows Tsuna is gonna be safe, even if he wishes he was there to see to it.]
Just get to the roof, okay? Saa, we need to figure out a way to get trough all this water...
No one else is in the hotel, right?

Fucker! I'm going to blow up this entire fucking soggy stairwell, I swear to God!

[And he makes the last floor or so in better time, huffing and dripping as he reached the roof]

Looking back out over the edge of the roof, hands braced against the ledge, he surveyed how fast the black waters were rising, how they were moving... and what seemed to be moving in them, from time to time. He had somewhat of a plan, but... maa. Getting Gokudera to go along with it would be the difficult part.]
Hey... Hayato.
[Turning back around again, he tilted his head and sighed at what the guy was wearing. Long pants, that heavy belt-- the usual stuff. Not great for being in water.
...Maa, this really was the difficult part.]Stay up here for a few minutes, okay? I'm gonna run back down to the floor below and get a few chairs and sheets... the water has a current, but ah-- it's not too heavy, so I think once it reaches the roof, we can probably float on it. I'll send Kojiro ahead to check out the ( ... )

[That sobered him. For like five seconds, while his fingers numbly grasped the hilt, unaccustomed to the weight of a weapon that wasn't his own - and a sword was a far cry from dyamite. But for a stunned moment, maybe he even experienced something like respect for the brute force that went into wielding a weapon like this that you couldn't just launch at an opponent alongside colorful death threats and hope it did the job.
[But then the stunned silence wore off and Gokudera picked up where he'd left off, scowling at Yamamoto and even gesturing at him angrily with the end of his own sword] ( ... )

Calm down. [He gives, tone surprisingly even, collected. Not the usual laughter and what-does-that-have-to-do-with-anything comebacks. Just clear, concise directions that he's going to need Hayato to follow; 'cause Hayato is too passionate, too emotional, and too rash... and this might actually be a life or death situation that isn't about who is the fastest, or the strongest, or can blow the most up. It's about who can keep a cool head, can work methodically; and when it comes to that, Takeshi knows without a shadow of a doubt-- it's his.
He's got this, and he's going to make sure Gokudera doesn't do too much to get himself hurt; slipping over floorboards aside.]
How're you gonna get to Tsuna, anyway? Doesn't having a boat make more sense? Maa, and with all this rain, you won't know which direction you're headed in without Kojirou-- there are no landmarks.
So just wait here, all right? I'll be right back with the chairs.
[And he's on his way

[So he scowls and turns away in his irritation, still holding the sword, but letting it hang at his side as Gokudera finally takes a look over the side of the roof, twitching at the unpleasant feeling of the rain pelting against his face.
[Tenth... can't fail him.
[SHIT! Was that just something moving in the water? And the sword hits the floor of the roof with a clatter as Gokudera sinks to his knees near the edge, wide-eyed and staring out at the black water that swallowed up the lawn outside the hotel]
The hell was that?
