[And now Gokudera Hayato will be interrupting your regularly scheduled broadcast with his own natural disaster.

[Sure, he got the memo about the flooding - he's fucking soaked and sloshing up the stairs of his hotel, but more important than soggy cigarettes and useless dynamite is the fact that the Tenth is missing. He's missing and in a sleep coma ( Read more... )

wtf out of nicotine and bombs, because screaming can pierce a coma, gokudera is on a mission, unarmed and so anxious, taking on a flood for the tenth, !video

[Gokudera has been very busy in that same twenty minutes, though arguably not s productive. It took him a minute to spot his first monster in the water - though the words he'd come up with for them were a little more convoluted. But as soon as he realized those bastards were hostile and a definite obstacle on their journey to find the Tenth, he vowed to end them.

[That was easier said than done. Twenty minutes later, his belt had been angrily ripped from its loops and is laying across the roof, useless, as a huffing Gokudera clutches the edge of the building through his gasping.

[With every wasted, wet stck of dynamite, his ire had only increased. Then when he turned to cigarettes for some relief, only to find they too were useless, Gokudera was left with nothing but a flushed face and angry fist. And Yamamoto's sword, though he forgot about that - what use would it do him at this distance.

[So yes, it looks like dynamite and cigarettes exploded all around the Storm Guardian and in the center, he's gasping for breath and clutching tiles, his shirt soaked through, hair plastered to his face, teeth grit hard as his narrowed eyes just watched one of those bastards move around in the water below]

[Takeshi stared a long moment, then understood. Finally giving a wan laugh, he guessed,]

Ah-- you saw them too, Hayato? Jeez... those things looked pretty big.

Bastards. [Still seething to himself, though he glances back over his shoulder after a minute, eyes still narrowed]

The hell is that for?

This? [He smiles a little and nods at the chair, putting his hands onto his hips.] For floating. We can turn it upside-down and use it like a boat, right?

Tch. [it wouldn't matter if Yamamoto's plan made perfect sense - Gokudera would still probably find it idiotic, though he does seriously pause long enough to evaluate it. It's not like he's ever attempted to submerge a table in water, so he's not sure if it would float or even if it would stay upright once their weight was on top and upsetting the balance. But even if could work, Gokudera jabs]

How is that supposed to work with a big idiot like you riding it? [it's easier to take a tone with this Yamamoto. He makes it so easy; too many openings, even that smile, it just invites Gokudera to say he's wrong or call him an idiot.

[But... it's all they got. And if he has no choice in being cold and wet, Gokudera would at least prefer to be killing something while he's miserable. He glances back at the black creature in the water, shooting a glare in its direction]

Whatever. Let's just do this.

Then... if it's too big with both of us on it, I'll swim. [He decided easily, as if Gokudera hadn't been making a jab; but asking a serious question. And that was the easy answer anyway, right? He was wearing lighter clothing, and had more upper and lower body strength, better stamina, since he wasn't a smoker...

And then he nods. Yeah-- let's do it.]

Wanna help me get it over to the ledge?

[Gokudera got back to his feet, reaching for his belt. This time he wrapped it around hi waist, bypassing all the belt loops, just to have it on his person, then he shook his head and approached the table. This better work.

[He reached for one edge of the table, pulling on it while hissing]

Fucking. Hate. This. Place.

Haha... it isn't that bad, right?

[Sometimes, at least.

He'd hjelp Gokudera heft it up and onto the ledge of the roof, then peered over.]

Wanna go for it, or wait until it's a little higher?

[Thinking the latter was wiser; but Hayato was in a rush.]

[Gokudera gave him the look. The seriously? Weren't you listening when I said "fuck waiting" the last three times]

I'm going now.

[Yamamoto nodded.]

Right... okay, ah... I'll jump in first. Then use the sheet to lower it down towards me, okay?

[Gokudera had no issue with sending Yamamoto in first - as a distraction, but the whole business with the sheet just made his face twitch]

What's the point in that? [Waste of time, clearly. Patience, what is that?] Why don't we just heave it into the water. I'll do it.

[Glances sharply to his right, jerking his chin] And don't forget your sword, idiot.

Ah... because then it could fall on the person who goes in first. Or hit the side of the building and break. Or get carried away by the current before I could grab it.

[He rattled off, then gave a 'huh?' and follows Hayato's chin to his sword. Blinking, he gives a grateful nod and lets go of the table to go and get it.]

[And Gokudera watches him turn away for all of two seconds before the thought occurs to him.

[Screw it. With a sly smirk that turns into a wince of strain, he set about shoving the table the last bit over the edge, trying to put enough force behind it to keep it from bashing against the side of the building. Well, he hoped that was how it would work out anyway.

[And before he could catch his breath and listen to any more unnecessary excuses or explanations, Gokudera took the plunge, launching himself over the side of the building with his arms roughly aimed over his head, though it felt like he actually ended up hitting the damned water with his face and stomach.

[He came up spluttering and cursing]

[Taking this small span of time to stretch his arms and make sure he'd caught his breath, Takeshi had bent down halfway to get his sword when--

Above all the noise of the storm and the water, there was an unmistakable scrape of wood...]

Hayato-?

[He turned as he said it, voice a little urgent, just in time to catch him jumping off to edge...]

Hayato!

[Jeez! Picking up his sword quickly now, he sheathed it on his back again and then ran to the ledge to see where he was-- an if where he was was anywhere close to where the table was.]

[Screw the table. Gokudera is choking on foul water and unable to see through the heaviness of the wet hair in his face, chest burning either from what turned into a several story belly flop or inhaling the water on impact.

[His cursing doesn't even form the shape of convincing words; it's more a spluttering growl. Gokudera tried to scrape the hair out of his face while working to stay afloat, rings catching on his hair and pulling on his scalp while the rain still hit the top of his head from above. Damnit! -- And if there are any fucking crystal-faced black monsters about, he's too busy not drowning to give a shit]

[Okay, Plan B.

Takeshi doesn't really have a Plan B, so he's just gonna assume that Plan B means helping Hayato not drown, right now. The guy doesn't seem to be having an easy time of it, when he spots him... and the movement in the water that Takeshi sees out of the corner of his eye doesn't reassure him any.

Taking a deep breath, he got on the ledge; held the breath; and then jumped in after him, grabbing his knees to his chest as he falls.

Sink deep down and then float. He focuses on that, hoping his sword won't be too much, as he hits the water, his legs taking the brunt of the impact so that the air isn't knocked from his lungs.]
