- ballet:
Ballet is the center of my childhood. Living in a house with 7 people, you need a little bit of peace every now and again and ballet gave me that. There's such elegance and beauty in every move a ballerina makes. Every point of a toe or movement of an arm is precise and deliberate and ridiculously complicated and yet somehow looks as if it took no effort at all to appear that completely flawless. Ballet was my bit of beauty in an ugly world. - books:
Books were my escape. I was never a very social person, at least not with people my own age. I would hide from social interaction behind my books because the characters in the stories were always far more interesting than my peers. I have a great appreciation for reading. It is the gateway to so many other things. - cats:
I love my kitties! I love that they snuggle with me at night and they aren't usually super demanding like dogs are. I mean, I like dogs too, but there's just something about cats. - dvds:
Movies are the best, but DVDs are great too. On a cold, rainy afternoon it's great to just plop onto the sofa, grab a bowl of popcorn and watch DVDs until your eyes get sore! - gilmore girls:
Ah, Gilmore Girls. It's the relationship every daughter wishes she had with her mother, and every mother should try to have with her daughter. It's an idealistic world of witty banter, unique characters and finding people who care about you in the most unexpected places. I want to be a Gilmore Girl! - harry potter:
I think that the book world would be sadly incomplete if Harry Potter hadn't stepped into it. I know of very few books that I can read through 7 or 8 times and not get a little bored. Better than that, I know of almost no books that I can read that many times and still discover new things within the story. I enjoy these books, and not because they are "hyped" to be popular like everyone says, but because they are stories about characters who are remarkably real and true to their personalities. I enjoy them because they teach incredibly moral things to their readers. I enjoy them because they create a world that is completely unique and yet somehow not too much unlike our own. I enjoy them because this one boy throughout these six books has inspired thousands of children to read rather than play video games. For that reason, I take my hat off to JK Rowling, she is a genius. - lost:
SO FREAKING SUSPENSEFUL! Honestly, one of the best shows ever created! It is unique, it is well scripted, it is well acted and from what I can tell it is entirely original. In a world full of reality television and tired cop shows or shows about quirky twenty-somethings, I am extremely greatful to have a show like Lost to come home to. - movies:
There is nothing happier than a dark movie theater when the previews start to roll. When I was younger, it was very rare that we got to go to a movie, but when we did it was magic. As an adult, there are few things I enjoy more than sitting in a movie theater waiting for the previews to finish, anticipating the start of a movie. - politics:
Eh, who am I kidding? I just like to argue. - theater:
Theater is the reason I am the person you see today. Prior to walking into an auditorium as a freshman in high school and auditioning for my first play, I was this quiet, shy, reserved little person. Hard to believe huh? Theater brought me out of my shell and gave me a chance to express myself in ways that I'd never been able to express myself before. It gave me confidence, and an ability to speak my mind. It gave me some wonderful friendships and taught me a lot about the true nature of people. Theater will probably always be in my blood.
