It’s been ages since I updated, but then up until this past week I haven’t had that much to really report. On Tuesday 28th of November, I did a flying visit to and from London to have my interview and aptitude test for a civilian job with the Met Police. I thought it all went quite well (and in fact I was told off the record that I aced the aptitude test part while I was there). Well, a mere three days later, I got the letter through that I’d passed the interview too and I was being offered the job! Woo-Hoo~! It’s now a waiting game as I wait to be security checked and references obtained and the like. Security vetting can theoretically take up to six months, but I can’t imagine it’ll take that long.
Next thing I need to do is do a medical test in January - which is basically just an eyesight/hearing test.
Once everything is cleared up, I’ll have a month’s notice to work in my current job and then I’m off, baby! Back in the London groove, so to speak. I’ll not miss the LSC for a moment, although I’ll miss a few of the people - but then I can keep in touch with them without too much hassle if I want to.
I’m not telling anyone in work until I’ve handed in my notice - but unless someone’s stalking me, no-one at my work knows I have a LiveJournal.

Saturday past was “Super Saturday”, as I went to see Irish Whip Wrestling in Belfast in the afternoon with Steve from Keady, then went to the Kiss tribute band ‘Hotter Than Hell’ with David & Christan. I’ve been slowly converting those two, and I think the conversion is taking, especially with David. Ah, the power of Kiss!

Sunday was the ECW PPV and dear GOD, that was the most horrible PPV I’ve seen in forever. Absolutely horrid. In fact, it has damn near killed my desire to ever watch ECW again. I have no interest in seeing a wrestling show featuring Lashley, Test, Khali, Terkay, Striker and Knox in feature roles. Heyman’s gone, Sabu’s likely next, RVD is in the doghouse and they have no real use for Sandman. There’s only CM Punk left.

A couple of weeks ago I phoned o2 about an upgrade - my old Sony Ericsson K750i is broken, and I wanted the new W850i. The woman told me it would cost me £50 to upgrade. I told her that I’d think about it, and called back a couple of days later and asked for my PAC code so I could leave the network. They went away and came back and offered me half price line rental for the year (i.e. £15 instead of £30 p/m), but that I’d still have to pay for the phone. I called back yesterday and told them that I’d take the offer… and the seemingly clueless guy on the phone told me I could have the half price line rental AND get the phone for free! Result~! I should have it in the next day or two.
