So after much thought, prayer, discussion and tears (yes, I got emotional over work) I decided to go with the new job. I am now the Receptionist for Forgeron Physical Therapy in Palm Springs. I am really quite sad about leaving my other job, I loved my career, clients, boss and co-workers. I loved being able to go to work and not be the least bit stressed about what was ahead of me. But alas, my practice just wasn't building quickly enough for me to pay for $10k of dental work anytime soon.
At least everyone is nice at my new job (I am permanently traumatized by a past boss haha), and a few of them are Christians. A few of the employees have been there for 10 plus years, so that is saying something about the owner of the company. I can also transfer my massage education and experience, if only technically to this field. It is pretty busy and crazy, but I can handle it. Last but not least, I thank God we will be able to get out of debt with my new salary, whew.
Now, to plan a summer vacation.
We're just going to be able to get away for a few days (like a wed-sun or something) even though Steve gets 2 weeks paid off, so here is what I'm thinking:
-Stay with my grandparents in Ventura for free (they have a huge house, in a beach city, and it's free. can't beat that. and my grandparents are the sweetest people on earth)
-Go to Universal studios since neither of us have ever been there
-Go to Solvang and stuff our faces with fresh-baked danish pastries and go to a wine tasting
-Eat at the Pacific Dining Car in Santa Monica mmmm (since we get free lodging, we could probably swing this $$$)
-Eat breakfast at Le Petite at the Ventura Harbor, home-made crossiant french-toast mmmm
(our idea of vacation is fine dining, as you can see)
-Relax and do nothing in cool Ventura while it's 120 here at home
So yeah, good stuff to look forward to as I take on the pressures of a new job and facing a dozen dental appointments over the next year....
