I just renewed my paid Live Journal account. Has it been a year already? Had I not paid, it just would have reverted to a free account and that's all I really need, but I just have this thing about paying my way, since I have the means to do so. I certainly don't expect everyone to do this, but I am at a point in my life where I think that is the least I can do.
I guess this would be a good time to update. Actually, when I started getting warnings in my e-mail that my account was about to expire I had thought about making a clean break. I spend a lot of time online that I could be devoting to other pursuits, but the truth is that I enjoy hearing about what my small circle of online friends are up to and thinking about.
I talk to plenty of people in real life, but it is just not the same. People just don't share their thoughts like they do here. And it does give me an outlet as well.
I know a lot of people want to have scores of LJ friends, but here as IRL I am more content having just a small number of friends. I not saying I'm not open to adding a few friends; I actually read the journals of a few people who are not on my friends list. It's just that I don't feel the need of have ever more friends.
Well, wish me a happy one year LJ anniversary.
