Updates....indeed

This article actually gives a pretty good breakdown of the inconsistencies I *thought* I was hearing in John Roberts' testimony. Unfortunately, incisive or not, our blowhard reps won't step up to the plate to nail him on said discrepancies.

Meanwhile, (brought up by a comment) Joe Lieberman was going off this morning about how disgraceful it all was that there was no reaction to Katrina, that the President should take responsibility....and my mind gelled after that. Cuz last night (thanks to Daddy's old military ties) I got a posting from the USS Iwo Jima, and while everyone is decrying the lack of FEMA response...?? One item in this note mentions that tons of FEMA folks and other sorts of volunteers were there the day *before* the storm hit and, having no place to stay, asked to crash on the LHD-7 (the Iwo Jima). Hmm....perhaps it really DOES rest STRICTLY with leadership? Folks from Minnesota (an EMT team) drove down in their own Emergency van 24 hours to get to NO and stayed around while the storm passed and then went to work rescuing people. While President AvillageinTX... was flying over in AF-1. Just makes ya go hmmm.

Maybe if they shoot enough footage of people (a person, 'sfar as I can tell) shooting at the rescue helicopters, no one will pay attention to the fact that people actually showed up and did things and that leadership was no where to be found when 14 year old girls were being raped to death in the bathrooms of the SuperDome.
