On the train to Europe we met a young guy from Miami who just got his masters in international business. he was just traveling europe for now and was having a good time. We also met a man who worked for swiss air who lived on lake Konstanz and said it was beautiful. We arrived in Zurich and started wandering around looking for a place to eat. There were sandwich shops on the street but everything was in Franks so we went to a bank and exchanged some money. We went to a restaraunt in a mall and wanted to try some german food but it was pretty expensive, about 12 franks, so we tried some chineese that seemed cheaper with a sign next to it that said 2.50. unfortunately it ended up being 2.50 per 100grams so each of our meals was around 18 franks. Everything in zurich was expensive. They have things called donor kabops that are like gyros and are sold on the street, in Konstanz they are only 3.00 but are over 12 in zurich. zurich is a beautiful city, it is located in a valley and the buildings go up the sides of the mountains so there are many stairs and great views. All the architecture is very old fashioned, the streets are brick. We visited some of the churches we could see and climbed up inside one of the bell towers and took some great photos that I will post once I get a chance. The layout of the city is very organic, with the streets going every which way. We found a hostel to stay in, the accomodations were pretty nice. We were all exhausted from being awake for 36 hours so we fell asleep at 6.
I will continue this story later, I need to go to the train station to plan this weekends trip. Talk to everyone later.
