The rewrite, modified title and all, is off to Interzone, electrons burning through the ether. I feel good. It's not often that you get to write a Libertarian SF story. With Nazis. And Descartes. And incest.
Edited at 11am 6/1: Got confirmation I made the deadline. Whew.
Got an email back from Andy Cox that "Romeo, Unbound" was a "very near miss" for Interzone. Toss up as to whether I send it off to Asimov's, Analog, or WotF next.
It's four months since I snailed "Romeo, Unbound" across the Atlantic to Interzone. Anyone in LJ land know what's a reasonable time to wait before querying them as to whether it was lost in the murky depths west of the island?
Note to self: I really need to tackle the rewrite on "Sacrifices" so I can sub it to F&SF or Fantasy.
I didn't wait long (about 4 hours) before deciding to send "Romeo, Unbound" off to its next stop. The submission is on its way to the UK. Can't really explain why I opted for Interzone first. Just a feeling that, if I flipped a coin between Asimov's, Analog and Interzone, it would land on its edge.
