Winding Down

Accomplishing this evening's tasks, and looking forward to Wednesday's planned attack on the remaining pages in chapter two and (perhaps) tackling the beginning of chapter three.*

Watching the latest episode of The Biggest Loser, which I taped on the DVR so I could finish Tuesday's scheduled workout. Lower body circuit with lots of front lunge kicks, side lunge stretches, and and oblique and squat jumping jack cool down. JM remains a bully, but I increased my workout intensity to compensate for the missed circuit from Sunday.

I couldn't start until after I finished reading Soldier's Heart by Gary Paulsen, the autobiography youngest daughter chose to review for her English class. It's a short work, but exceptionally intense for a YA. We knocked out 40 pages on Sunday, ending with the chapter about the Battle of Bull Run. The chapters got "worse" if you want to use that word, as the narrator's descriptions eloquently presented the horrors of war. It's an understatement to say that youngest daughter was shocked and moved.

And the book puts me at 39 for the number of books read this year. So, a win all round tonight. :-)
