Exactly 10 years ago today, the heart of Birmingham was hit by the fiercest tornado on British soil in nearly three decades, causing damage totaling around £40m in just four minutes.

Headed into Birmingham this lunchtime for the annual Frankfurt Market, where we dined upon immense sausages, drank imported ale and spent silly amounts of money on even sillier decorations. Me, I bought a robot.
