This gives us a wrong, entirely possible Doctor through a series of quick and hurried scenes. The narrative is almost melancholy, something that the fic manipulates to its advantage. Rose is limitless in this -- her own, selfish, natural person mixed with someone who knows but doesn't care. And the story? Is about the same adjectives applied to the Doctor.
There is sex in this: not the standard fluffy fair of most Rose/Doctor pieces but the painful, destroying physical actions that the wrong sort of emotions take when confronted with another, dangerous path lined with hearts 'n' flowers. There are no hearts and flowers here.
