truth

truth is subjective:
changing
rearranging
engaging and enraging
a thing with no definite past
and such a fragile future...
who knows the truth?
let alone speaks it?
lies are eloquent masks
we wear without want or wisdom
and sometimes with both,
though as for that, who knows the truth?

"the" truth. as if there were only one,
as if such an amalgamation could ever be done;
make no mistake, such collaboration could be fun,
but no such victory of souls has yet been won.

to be sure,
we write and say and speak and portray
the things that convey our own play
with rarely the consideration that others may,
with the same determination say
and write and speak and portray just as legitimate
a game from across this crowded room
with no meaning and no word the same.

truth is subjective.
it changes,
rearranges,
estranges.
it's never the same twice
and never the same price
which explains our reticence in relating the worst (and best) of it.

...let me know when you're taking the kitten to the kitty clinic.
