Just got back from seeing Julie & Julia with my darlings H and PH.

SO. FABULOUS.

Streep is fantastic as Child (I have a weird love/hate relationship with Meryl Streep sometimes... *ducks flying fruit from f-list*), and Adams managed to wash out the bad aftertaste she left me with after Night At The Smithsonian. And, okay, well, Stanley Tucci, if this man has ever NOT been utterly fab and completely marvy beyond belief, I will need scientific proof and possibly bribery to even consider it. My love for him knows no bounds.

Of course, there's also the part where it's a movie about Julia Child and cooking and cookbooks and the fact that eating and butter and being a foodie are all marvelous pursuits and this is ME we're talking about, who could not love food anymore if it came wrapped in more food. But still. They could've broken it; I have seen equally fabulous ideas fall apart in grand fashion on the big screen.

But they did not break it. They made it fab.

I approve wholeheartedly.
