As most of my friends know, I am really into body modifications; i.e piercings and tattoos. It is a way that I choose to express myself. So to see this
http://www.accessnorthga.com/news/ap_newfullstory.asp?ID=34411 is mind numbing. I am all for the "stopping the genital mutilation" but what does piercing consensual adult women, have to do with that?
The man? that wrote the bill knew nothing about the subject, "Amendment sponsor Rep. Bill Heath, R-Bremen, was slack-jawed when told after the vote that some adults seek the piercings.
"What? I've never seen such a thing," Heath said. "I, uh, I wouldn't approve of anyone doing it. I don't think that's an appropriate thing to be doing."
...it still got passed unanimously. But wait, what's that you say? Only on women would this be a crime? Men can still get their Prince Albert's, or their reverse PA's or the however many other piercings you can do..umm.. down there. They can even have scrotal stretching performed, why they would I can't say, but they still have that choice in Georgia.
Now don't get me wrong, I do not have, nor do I want any piercings like that. But, that is MY choice, NOT the governments. I am an adult and have the right to do to my body what I please, as should most adults male OR female.
Even today, as far as we have come from the hookers and the military being the norm with mods, it is still more acceptable for men to have mods then for women. The men here where I work, have tatts on their arms and wear short sleeves. I was kinda told to wear long sleeves... but I am ok with that. We have come so far with mods in general, both men and women, it is a shame to see us fall sooo far back.
