Awhile for me anyway. I started my new hours, Wed.-Fri, last week and enjoyed my 1st weekend home last weekend. I bummed around for most of it, but at least I got to sleep in. Saturday, Dianne, her mom, Mary, Sheila, & Else came over for dinner. The roast was insanely good. Sunday, I undecorated the tree and then my mom and I took it outside to be planted. Then we cleaned the living room and drank cosmos.
I stopped by the shelter last Thursday to see about a dog and ended up falling for pretty much all of them. Of course, some stood out more than others, but I feel for them all. I went back yesterday, but with treats, and they were like different dogs! It can't be to their advantage to be in cages all scared and confused because as people walk by their cages, they don't always get the opportunity to see the true dog. Their personalities definitely shone yesterday though. My mom and I are going back tomorrow to give them more treats. And to hopefully bring one home. My mom doesn't know it yet, but that's my plan.
Friday, I stopped by Heather's so we could exchange Christmas gifts. I apparently have very good timing because they invited me to eat dinner with them, which I did and enjoyed too! Then Heather made us her concoction of hot chocolate w/Bailey's and a biscotti. I think she might've spent more on me than I did on her, so I thought I'd pick her up one of those new types of Bailey's, with a hint of caramel or whatever. Yeah I know, that's not what Christmas is all about, but it had already been on my mind that maybe I should've gotten her another lil something and I don't want her thinking I was being cheap.
Brendan and I had a date night Monday. I'll leave out some details, but we ate at Friendly's where I had a Turkey Club Supermelt & some sorta Caramel sundae. They had one of those machines you see in arcades; there's a claw and you gotta try to grab a toy with it. Friendly's has a $2 machine, but you play until you win. I had my eye on the purple Taz plush toy and Brendan won it for me. Then we saw Night at the Museum. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It wasn't an amazing movie, but it was all-around good.
Also Monday, my mom came home w/the mail and...my license was returned to me!! Macy's mailed it to me, which is also the last place I rememeber having it. It's such a relief to have it back. I hate going to the DMV and was gonna wake up early yesterday to get it done because I didn't wanna be driving all week without one. Plus, I wanted to be able to get into the 21+ section at the DFD show on Saturday. Assuming they have one, that is.
Have a good one,
