(no subject)
I feel like such an old lady. My legs are so sore. No, NOT because of that...pervs! I spent a good 8 hours walking around the mall yesterday, getting all my Christmas shopping done. Unfortunately, I was on a budget, so I didn't get everything I had wanted to, but I did get quite a few nice things for people. I also did it all on nothing but a muffin & a small super fruit smoothie. And when I got home, my mom had dinner waiting. She rules!
This whole week has been pretty much a blur. My dad's birthday was Thursday, but we celebrated Wednesday because my mom has off every Wednesday & would have time to cook. That morning, my mom & I went shopping for birthday presents for my dad & Christmas presents for him & other people. There was a 15% off sale going on at Kohl's (when you used your charge card) on top of the sales they already had going on, so we put it all on my charge card & then mom wrote them a check before we left the register. I love sales.
Brendan came over for dinner Wednesday. I'm so glad he did. It was nice to get some alone time w/him (after dinner, that is). I gave him his Christmas gift, a Johnny Cash 3-Disc set, which he liked. I remember him mentioning he liked him, but I also noticed he didn't have any in his collection. I knew he'd bitch at me if I got him something expensive, so it was just a little something. Then he shared his Harry & David mint chocolate w/me. So good, it was. That might not mean much to any of you, but you see, we both love chocolate & can be possessive about it & he claims to hide his stash from me. I dunno if he's just fucking w/me or not though.
Tonight we're having a farm party. It'll be mainly people that work for us & board their horses w/us along w/a few others that are just close friends of the family. I'm only working half a day today, but then I'll be running a few errands for my mom & when I get home, wrapping as many presents as I can before people get there. I'd love to get it all done today, but I doubt that'll happen, so I'll just have to finish it all up tomorrow.
Tomorrow night we're having our usual Christmas Eve party. It'll be Sheila, Joe, Sheila's son Chris & his wife Jaleh & their 2 kids, along w/Sheila's son Tim & his partner James. Also, I believe Else will be coming & maybe Sherry. Brendan will hopefully be coming too. He's invited tonight, tomorrow & Christmas day to go w/us to my Aunt/Uncle's house, but since I know he's not fond of Christmas, I told him that even if he only came Christmas Eve, I'd be happy.
