Day Ten! Yay!
Day Ten: One Secret Plan.
Well, as a few people said before me, if I told you it wouldn't be a secret. But yes, Sekrit Plan, I haz one. One day, if all goes well, I'll make it public. Muahaha. Ha.
Saturday night BF was out of town, so a couple friends and I watched the Nicolas Winding Refn movie Valhalla Rising. ...Wow... It was amazingly beautiful, despite its pretty graphic violence. Relatively little dialogue, and the plot was simple, but its cinematography and the things it portrayed really struck me, and it's stuck with me. It's a weird movie, sort of a gritty, realistic movie about Scottish Viking-descended men whilst also being... metaphysical? Supernatural-ish? i mean, no ghosts, but the main character has more-than-human strength, seemingly, and he may or may not communicate telepathically with a fellow slave... I dunno. I loved it, even while it confused me, and I'm making BF watch it soon.
(OK, it looks as if they tried to make the weapons and clothes and such realistic. I don't know that the situation the main character is in at the start of the movie is realistic. The cage they keep him in is certainly made from roughly hewn sapling trunks... and it does get pretty weird later on. Anyway.)
Also, Clive Cussler wrote a book called Valhalla Rising. There's only a brief mention of Vikings in it, and that's all the two works have in common -- Vikings. Don't read it. It's eh.
