Grades
Got all my grades today.
ENGL 3223 (Adolescent literature)- A... I expected it and got it. No complaints there.
ENGL 3015 (Composition tutoring)- B... I am quite disturbed by this grade because I made As on all assignments up until the final portfolio. Apparently, the portfolio weighed a lot on our final grade, and I must have done poorly despite my 8+ hours of work on it. She even asked me if I wanted to tutor next semester. I was considering it at first.
FREN 2101 (3rd semester French)- C... I know French and am able to learn it faster on my own, so I often skipped the torturous 1.5-hour classes. Foreign language teachers grade participation, so there you have it. This grade doesn't bother me, but I'll shoot for a B next semester.
HIST 2057 (American history 1865-present)- D... Yeah, a D. I would've liked a C, but the TAs graded very harshly. I couldn't have had better notes, but I suppose I should've found a new method of Studying. I needed a 76% on the final to make a C. Apparently, I didn't make that.
2.5 GPA...
I'm not happy with these grades. The history and french grades are one thing, but that B in English really hurt. I think she sensed that I really didn't care about the class, so she was quite subjective in her evaluation of my work. It's not that I didn't care; it's that I wasn't interested in worshipping those crack-pot tutoring theories. I'm glad I'm not a secondary ed major (no offense to those who are. My anti-social persona just couldn't handle the personal interaction).
