It's amazing. I'm in this library practically every day, sitting in the same chair, watching a few people pass by. But exam week comes, the library is swamped to the point where quiet studying is a joke, yet people crowd around single tables to force their eyes on the same piece of paper for an hour.
People fill their Big Gulp cups with old coffee, hoping that a caffeine jitter will make them more attentive to the material. I even saw a girl pull a dirty styrofoam cup, spattered with coffee, out of the small garbage can below the coffee dispenser, wash it in the water fountain, and fill it up for an unsanitary caffeine high.
I just filled my mug for a second serving of coffee for the drive home. The library is clearing out, now that it's nearly 8pm. No one really pulls an all-nighter, but it's nice to plan them. Two Indians passed, derking away about physics, and some Asian with disgustingly fake blonde hair thinks her cell phone conversation is more important to everyone than their notes.
Yay, exams.
