Avatar Spirit

Stay with me here.

Breath. Just turn on field emiter, and put on the visor. Now go to the airport. Fly to any city on earth in 10 seconds. All from the comfort of your living room, or the local café.

Sudden you're in a random street in Tokyo or a commune with mesh of antenna ontop the trees in the rainforest. Bora Bora or Paris. Surrounded by the "locals" if you wish. The actual inbahbitants spied from above by open source satellites with centimetre accuracies appear slightly blurred out or dark blue. The other avatar spirits would appearly precisely where their virtual selves desires. Perhaps even several places at once, as we are no longer restricted to the laws of the known universe.

The locals, I suppose, could set their android phones to "available" and come in clearly. They would still be relatively unaware of your avatar until you "poked" them, or video call, or whatever. That would allow for local-virtual information economies to flourish.

Even other types of economies would benefit in many ways. Some predictable but depend on soling the energy shortage problem and making sure transit is sustainable. I really hope we do, it's a big issue.

Anyway, so your out and abouters, getting groceries and taking their kids to school would wear a transparent HUD that appears about like a 50" screen 4 feet away in front of one or both eyes (fashion dependant) while the car drove them to work. The screen and radio would allow them to catch up on news, and would be their interface to Google, etc.

People wanting more control over all this and who abhor wearing anything on their heads would opt for the direct neural chip hahaha

Yuck! Gross! I think that's gonna stay optional but our kids or their kids won't see it that way. Even now, brainwave experiments with outside the headwear are deemed almost normal. The only way to improve on that technology's accuracy seems to be to go beneath the cranium. maybe the external sensors will improve a great deal but it doesn't look that way from what I hear.

[Mommy, Daddy can I get my head pierced?!]

Okay so the visors are still dorky and the field emiters have a tendency to kill any living matter, this is still a ways away, but it's a dream i think we have to consider a possible future.

Any predictions of the future have to include the line "baring any massive disaster".

Signing off,
Steve
